SCI-

THE TITLE OF SCI- IS GIVEN TO PRESTIGOUS INDIVIDUALS WHO EXCEL IN THEIR DESIGNATED FIELD. IT IS A BADGE OF HONOR NOT ALL SCIENTISTS IN HERITAKE ACHEIVE. SUCH A TITLE IS GIVEN TO SOMEONE VOTED IN BY A DESIGNATED COMMITEE WITHIN THE BODY KNOWN AS THE BRANCH. A VOTE CAN ONLY COMMENCE WHEN SAID INDIVIDUAL'S PEERS DELIVER A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION, APPROVED BY ANOTHER SCI-.

SIMILARLY TO THE TITLE OF SCI-, THE TITLE OF SURGE- IS AWARDED TO A SURGEON OF IMMENSE TALENT. VARIOUS CRITERIA MUST BE MET SUCH AS A NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF SUCCESFUL SURGURIES OR A BREAKTHROUGH IN THE SURGICAL FIELD, whether it be cardiology, neurology, etcetera.  IT IS COMMON FOR AN ASPIRING SURGE- TO PAIR UP WITH AN ASPIRING SCI- TO HELP EACH OTHER IN THEIR AMBITIONS.

Just like every other title, one must be approved by the branch.

THE TITLE OF TEACH SEEMS SELF EXPLANATORY, YET THERE IS MUCH MORE TO IT. ALTHOUGH TEACH- IS THE HIGHEST TITLE AWARDED TO A TEACHER, THEY MUST ALSO HAVE FAMILIARITY OF THE INNER WORKINGS OF MORALAN CULTURE AND DIPLOMACY. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GUIDING THE NEXT GENERATION, THUS IT IS IMPERATIVE TO HAVE A DIVERSE UNDERSTANDING OF VARIOUS TOPICS.

As with the other prestigious titles, THE BRANCH ULTIMATELY DECIDES if they are granted the title. in addition, ONE MUST TAKE A TEST AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION BEFORE A TEACH- TAKES SAID INDIVIDUAL IN AS A SPONSOR. AFTER SEVEN MONTHS OF EVALUATION, THE SPONSEE DECIDES IF THEY ARE FIT FOR THE TITLE. THE VERY FIRST TEACH- WAS KARIYA OSTOONA, WHO also CREATED THE wisdom of the tree.

Although there is not an OFFICIAL TITLE GIVEN TO A MEMBER OF THE BRANCH (TO KEEP anonymity), MANY MORALANS HAVE TAKEN IT AMONG THEMSELVES TO CREATE A SLANG DESIGNATION FOR IT, FOR WANT OF A BETTER WORD.

DERIVED FROM THE MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURE KNOWN AS THE BANSHEE, USE OF THE WORD "BRANSHEE" IS A GIBE OF SORTS.

FOR EXAMPLE, USE OF "BRANSHEE" WOULD BE TO CALL SOMEONE WHO ACTS OVERLY SERIOUS, OR "DEAD" SERIOUS, IF YOU WILL. ONE MAY USE THIS WORD towards, as some moralian adolescents put it, someone who "screams", "i am the edgy type".

in reflection of what caused the heritake war, moralo had strived to move away from traditional "government", or any use of similarly terminology for that matter.

however in reflection of what caused the second heritake war, moralo decided that was in fact not a good idea. many unique communities began to form and Factions from them, in order to protect their culture and livelihood. eventually, some factions clashed over territory or resources. a reciprocal desire for peace gave way to said factions seeking compromise.

a leader from each faction came together to form a leading body. the diverse selection allowed every community to be represented, which led to the combined population feeling content. so although a "government" of sorts is in play, moralians prefer not to refer to it as such.

"there is no government on moralo"

an executive force higher than the body may sound like it renders the point of the body meaningless. some moralans still do think this way to this day. however, the head functions in a way that compliments the fairness of the body.

due to the fact there was one representative from every faction, or shields as they were later renamed, the representatives only did what was best for their own communities, without harming the others. as resources were stretched thin, votes had to be held within the body to find the most fair way to distribute them. as one would imagine, every body member voted for their own shields.

one body member, kariya ostoona, convinced the others that they should elect five from among them to make the final calls; an odd number to break the vote. it was decided that the best way to fairly pick the five were to write three questions about their respective shields to examine how much they truly knew about each other.

whoever had the most overall satisfactory answers, was elected into the head. a neutral non-body member was selected by kariya ostoona since she did not belong to any shield. said neutral party collected all anonymous answers and asked every body member to decide which answers they found most satisfactory to their questions. the most satisfactory answers from each body member were read aloud.

whoever gave a selected answer would raise their left hand. it was agreed that anyone who lies about their answer would be removed from the body. a tally of hand-raises was kept by the neutral party, and the top three body members with the most tallies were elected.

before the formation of the body, many diverse communities called moralo home. to protect themselves from outsiders, factions formed to protect their communities. those in the faction were given the title shield-bearer.

a shield name comes from the ancestral history of the community you belong to. even though everyone on moralo is moralian, not everyone's ancestors were natives. an abundance of rich culture and history thrive all over our beloved moon.

the role of shield-bearers changed as moralo evolved. today, qualified members chosen by their community bear their shield-name in place of their last, to signify that the entire community is their family now.

various tests are required, such as marksmanship, endurance, and strength. these "shield-bearers" work in tandem with the body to keep every community safe, happy, and peaceful. all body members are anonymous to everyone except shield-bearers, thus a high level of discretion is expected.
